  • Gedo Senki Tales from Earthsea
    (Tales from Earthsea)

    Earthsea Japan Poster

The first movie of Miyazaki Hayao(宮崎駿‎)'s son. When will it be shown in HK?

  • 史兄日本遊 Brother Relgitsjq's Japan Expedition

I said I will only post "Fried Rice" or "Blogazine" during my Tokyo trip. Our dear Brother Relgitsjq's entry about his Japan expeidition is the best choice. The coloured texts are my comments. Here we go:

<First six days in Japan> [copy from brother relgitsjq]

    1. Girls in Tokyo are polarising - there are beautiful and ugly gals, but not in between them. The normal distribution of girls in terms of degree of beauty becomes concentrated on the two ends.  But the average degree of beautiful rose a little bit (the change in distribution is not symmetric). Many look like Ayu (Bun-kee-bu) and AV girls.

My observation-- beautiful : beautiful challenged (sounds politically correct) is 1:3

Young gals in trendy areas looks like Ayu. OLs looks like the cover gals of Oggi Magazine. AV-looking gals.... mainly appear in areas with night life.

Fashion of Japanese ladies hasn't changed a lot for the last 3 years. The main difference is that dark skin is much less popular. Now everyone is whiter than white.

    2. Beautiful girls are very tall - 5-7, 5-8. So if you are of the average size of HK guys, don't expect to date a pretty gal right here.

    Well... don't know...

I can only say Japanese ladies are more slim. Meanwhile, they like to wear short skirts. But slim doesn't mean pretty, remember.

    3. I saw Andy Lau in the Japan Airport. Extremely handsome and look very young (20 something). Similing all the time, and when being asked whether want to use the VIP channel, he refused (though i suspect this was due to the fact that he was on the route for normal guys like me). Anyway, a real star.

I saw Chris Patten at HK Int' Airport...

    4. As expected, my trip is flooded by Muji, Uniqlo, and more importantly, Donald Duck. I have visited 5 Muji stores in the first 2 days, 6 Uniqlo and infinite tonnes of Donald Duck in the first few days. I so hate Muji and Donald Duck now.

Why not go for the more original Japanese brandnames? Haha. Actually I also went to Muji and Uniqlo several times, plus some local fashion stores for discounted items. They have 5% sale tax. A field trip for studying impact of GST, right?

    5. Some numbers : As expected, folloing 5, we spend 90% of our money in the first 20% of our trip in terms of duration. We eat Mcdonalds, Beef-rice and other cheap food. I think of something about economics on wage and prices in tokyo versus HK, and some interesting implications. ..... ok... stop.  BTW, watami in HK is 100% the taste in Japan.  And i lost my legs in the first days in Shinsuku, Disneyland and Kyoto.

Haha, I dare not to try Watami...

    6. The sun burnt my back and hands in Kyoto, a nice city. Even in such a city famous for sight seeing, we bought agnes-b, muji (!!!!) and many other stuff.  Insanity is increasing.

UV there is no less terrible than in HK. Kyoto is a better place than Tokyo... still Muji, sigh....

    7. Luggage is around 100kg now, i guess. I suggest my gf to go home on foot so that i can take the luggage back to hk

A problem is not a problem if that can be solved by $$. You have $$, than no problem.

    8. I don't feel like in Japan, though people are speaking japanese to me ALL THE TIME. I suspect HK is so similar to Japan that I don't feel like in Japan.

Even when you speak English, they still speak Japanese...

    9. The average english speaking skill in Kyoto is much better than in Tokyo.

Haha, now you can imagine why the people in Tai O can speak English.

Well, brother, see you in August.

  • 本地遊(2) - 西貢大浪灣 Tai Long Bay, Sai Kung

Last week we enjoyed sun and beach in Tai Long Bay. Now at least 20% of my skin turns red and starts peeling off...

Disclaimer: I dont appear in any of these pictures. It`s not a good idea to show up in my own blog.

Weather in Tokyo is not fine. Even didn`t bother to bring my camera. Sorry for showing old pictures again.
