RSS(Really Simple Syndication, 簡易資訊聚合)是一種消息來源格式規範,用以發佈經常更新資料的網站,例如部落格文章、新聞、音訊或視訊的網摘。
開電腦-->開Facebook-->睇動態消息(News Feed)-->有過癮或有意思的內容就"Like"或者"Share",讓它出現在朋友的News Feed裡面
Bloggers

Love you blog, Kursk, keep it up!
RSS and RSS collective readers like Google reader, provide us with a very efficient way to explore the web by assorting the unlimited amount of info in a clean and neat fashion, it is a gift from above for those who care to squeeze the most useful info out of the shortest time. While Facebook is a great derivative in sharing information and has a much deeper reach in the general Netizen public, I would say that, at least in near future, the positioning of Facebook may not allow a radical change that will enhance its information assortment prowess for such a move may alienate the exiting users who like to keep it simple and easy to use.
IMHO, their functions and positioning don't exactly overlap, so FB as a replacement to RSS ain't happening soon and I would say that they will both continue to thrive in their own spheres for quite a while....
p.s view from an avid Google reader user
i have produced some teaching materials for my boss for a lecture on RSS, i had not any RSS subscription before that (well...once, when i tried google reader when it came out)
so through the production of the materials and teaching notes i learnt the concepts and mechanisms of RSS in blogging and podcasting, which i think is a very good concept; yet, as u said these feed readers and the subscription process are a bit complicated to use to ppl which are less competent in using computer
yet, at the same time, i concur with Imh0088 's view that their functions and positioning dont overlap; in facebook the control of what to appear on the news feed is very much dependent on your friends, whereas in your own RSS reader u hv full control
to make RSS popular, i think it needs to be more simple
and browser integration is crucial in this simplification process
it would be perfect that, when u click on a RSS/feed, it is automatically subsribed (think xanga subscription)
in fact, internet explorer has this functionality however despite the east subscription process its rss reader is horrible

Thx for your info! 2.
@kimkim_or -

@felix -
@addie1125 -
right, 打錯字。 Thx!
@dreamfordream -
@Kalan -
@ckakei -
@ckakei -
Agree and you may want to try an add-on called Google Reader plus for Chrome, it has a click-to-share function that allows you to share what u have just read on facebook. But again, google should have made it as a default function in google reader if it really like to bridge the gap between RSS and facebook.
@kursk -
this concept of 數碼鴻溝 that u mentioned is indeed a very serious one.
Although good quality information swims and bad quality information sinks in a truly information free flow environment, FB is an half-enclosed circle in the sense that your exposure of info is limited to the existing network you have (which constituting component very much depends on one's exiting taste, preference and background). I wouldsuggest that, as a result of cursory sharing of info with doubtful sources/shaky analysis of issues and lack of analytical training on the part of the readers/sharers , averages netizens who only rely on facebook to take in info will tend to experience an "gabage in, gabage out" stalemate or information/intellectual blind spot.
If the above leads to the situation that the right will get righter and the left will get lefter; question is, will Facebook accelerates the magnitude of social disputes and disagreements ?
